yeah i am wanting to play and sing country. I went to the store and they said it was a good guitar to sing with. i was just wanting some answers from people who have this model and if there are any issues with this guitar.
Oh yeah and im a complete beginner I can only play a few chords and a few notes on the E string, but thats about it. I want to upgrade and get a nicer guitar that I can have my whole life.
Playing guitar is something that I dream of getting amazing at. I know that you'll have to go through tough practice time, but I do belive that I have the drive to play my whole life. My dad and I really love to play and it's fun too.

Every Taylor guitar I've had experience with has been a well-crafted instrument. In fact, I've never heard any guitarist complain about a Taylor guitar.

I'd recommend a Taylor to anyone who wanted an acoustic guitar.

Of course, their are some alternatives: Ovation (great guitars--I've been playing these acoustics for a while though I don't own one myself), Alvarez (decently-priced and I hear they're great guitars, though I've never tried one yet) and Takamine (many country guitarists use these and I've tried one or two though I have heard that some Takamines have had problems)

Taylor Standard Electric Guitar Natural

$1799

The Taylor solidbody is a completely original electric guitar design that reflects the same spirit of innovation and pure love for guitar building that has propelled Bob Taylor since his humble beginnings as a luthier in 1974. The Taylor SolidBody Standard Electric Guitar is constructed with a sapele back, flame maple inset top and a contoured single Florentine cutaway body design. The proprietary Taylor Style II open-coil humbucker pickups are designed to deliver the sweet tones of a low-output vintage pickup, but with enough power to fully drive any amp. Other exclusive touches include the Taylor profiled 24-7/8" short scale neck with 22 frets and the ultra-stable, single-bolt T-Lock neck-to-body construction; a sleekly sculpted, "invisible" adjustable all-aluminum bridge; volume and tone knobs that are specially contoured for maximum control with unique 5-way switching capabilities.Five pickup settings with carefully chosen voicings give you a great range of tones: 1) Neck pickup 2) "Skinny neck tone"-two inside coils from both pickups wired in parallel 3) "In-between rock tone"-both coils of neck pickup combined with the inside coil of bridge pickup for classic bright single-coil tone with the added fullness of neck tone. Great for semi-distorted amp setting. 4) Fat single-coil-two inside coils from both pickups in series (north from neck and south from bridge) creating, in effect, a 4" humbucker. 5) Bridge pickupThis beauty has a sound and feel that is unique, and yet quintessentially Taylor.

Sweaty hands? Taylor includes rubber O-ring grips that slip over the knobs. For years, Bob Taylor was asked if they were going to build a solid body electric, and for years, the answer was no. Bob's thinking was simple: he wasn't going to build a solidbody electric unless he felt there was a real reason to. In other words, he wouldn't put the Taylor name on a guitar that was just another version of what already existed. For this electric guitar to happen, it had to be innovative, unique and worthy of a place alongside the guitars that electric guitar players have loved for generations. When the design group at Taylor invented new pickups and Bob heard them, he knew the time had come. Starting with the pickups, each element of this solid body was designed from the ground up. The ingenuity that Bob Taylor insisted on resulted in the creation of an electric guitar that's sure to inspire and well-equipped to impress.

Taylor Taylor Swift Baby Taylor 3/4 Size Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

Taylor Taylor Swift Baby Taylor 3/4 Size Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

$299

The Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT) Guitar was inspired by Swift's memories of writing songs on her own Baby Taylor. Based on Taylor's compact 3/4-scale dreadnought, the TSBT guitar is crafted from a resilient sapele laminate body with a solid Sitka spruce top. With a slim 1-11/16" neck and a compact shape, the guitar is just right for a young player's hands and for anyone who likes to pick up and play on the go.Swift's custom, screen-printed rosette design features the word "Love" 3 times amid a delicate vine motif. The personalized guitar design also features the title of her Fearless album, and is inscribed with Taylor Swift's signature above the bridge. Once a talented preteen with a Taylor guitar and big musical dreams, country pop superstar Taylor Swift has realized those dreams and then some, taking the world by storm over the last several years. Swift spent much of 2009 on her first headlining tour, in support of her multiplatinum sophomore release Fearless.Taylor Guitars has enjoyed a warm relationship with Swift that traces back to when she was barely a teenager with a store-bought 615ce, but already there were signs of a major songwriting talent in the making. Recalling how Taylor's compact, portable Baby guitar was a great songwriting tool for a girl on the go, Swift in turn wanted to encourage others to express their feelings through music, which led to the development of her signature model, the Taylor Swift Baby Taylor (TSBT)."I wanted to share my passion for playing guitar with my fans," Swift says. "For a beginner, finding the right guitar can be intimidating, but this guitar, it's the perfect size. Even if you've been playing for years, it's a great size to travel with."

Taylor DN3 Sapele Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

Taylor DN3 Sapele Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

$1099

The Taylor DN3 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar delivers signature Taylor performance, quality, and value. The DN3 Guitar is a great introduction to the solid-wood Taylor experience. The Taylor DN3 has a back and sides made of sapele, and a Sitka spruce top to create a rich tonal tapestry. Appointments include a bound ebony neck, chrome plated tuners, and an Indian rosewood headstock overlay. Simple, traditional styling and renowned Taylor craftsmanship make this one of their most popular models. The traditional shape and sound have been refined to blend power with a more balanced response Bob Taylor launched his career crafting Dreadnoughts, working with shapes he inherited from Sam Radding, the owner of the American Dream guitar shop, where he and Taylor co-founder Kurt Listug got their start. The legacy of this shape carried a powerful, traditional sound that Bob gradually reworked into a refined Taylor tone and more smoothly contoured look. The rosewood/spruce 810 became a Taylor stalwart and was for many years Bob's preferred model, favored for its robust tone and understated, workmanlike aesthetic. In 2003 the Dread underwent a major revoicing to give it a more competitive identity among old school flatpickers. A cannon, it boasted 50 percent more volume (which also meant more dynamic range), yielded an appreciably stronger bass response, and let out a hearty growl when pickers dug in, all without upsetting Taylor's sonic balance. As Bob put it during the revoicing process: "I want to be able to play a Dreadnought on the bass strings and then on these middle D and G strings and have it sound like the same guitar." Bob later applied some of his short-scale ideas to the 710ce-L9 limited in 2005, and it proved to be a winner. Like the short-scale GC, the slinkier feel allowed players to lighten up on their attack and play up the neck. It gave the Dreadnought more versatility than it had ever seen. Short-scale or standard, the Taylor Dreadnought delivers a vintage sound for the 21st Century. Play a Dreadnought if: You're a flatpicker or strummer looking for a potent, traditional sound.

Appointments include a bound ebony neck, chrome plated tuners, and an Indian rosewood headstock overlay. This enables them to define an edge with binding and then contour up to that edge. Forearm and cutaway contours are comfortable and especially beautiful with elegant binding trim.Neck Taylor's innovative T-Lock neck joint brings Taylor's trademark consistency and comfort into the solid body player's hands. The contouring makes the electric guitar's neck feel and look great, especially up by the body. The Taylor SB-X1-T guitar has no heel, and the asymmetrical curve where it meets the body creates a smooth aesthetic line that flows into the cutaway.Pickups The Taylor SB-X1-T Classic electric guitar features a Taylor plug and play pickguard loaded with Style 1 high definition mini-humbuckers. Don't let the slightly smaller, 3/4-size fool you. This full-output humbucker is punchy, dripping with tone, and will keep up with every type of player. Vintage sweetness together with the power to drive an amp gives you the best of both worlds, plus some fresh sounds that'll lead you to a world of your own.Five-Way Pickup Switch The Taylor guitar's switch is laid out in a familiar way, with the neck pickup position located closest to the neck humbucker and the bridge position closest to the bridge pickup. In between the full, fat neck tone and the rockin bridge tone, the middle settings give the Taylor electric guitar its own distinctive voicings.1) Full neck pickup 2) "Skinny neck tone" – two inside coils from both pickups wired in parallel 3) "In-between rock tone" – both coils of neck pickup combined with the inside coil of bridge pickup for classic bright single-coil tone with the added fullness of neck tone. Great for semi-distorted amp setting. 4) Fat single-coil – two inside coils from both pickups in series (north from neck and south from bridge) creating, in effect, a 4" humbucker. 5) Full bridge pickupFused String Ground Taylor has also added a fused string ground (wired to the switch plate inside the guitar), so that in the event of faulty ground or funky wiring, the 5-milliamp fuse will fry instead of you. If the fuse blows, your guit

For this electric guitar to happen, it had to be innovative, unique and worthy of a place alongside the guitars that electric guitar players have loved for generations. Taylor STSM-T5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar Black

Taylor STSM-T5 Acoustic-Electric Guitar Black

$2399

The Taylor Serj Tankian T5 Signature Model Acoustic-Electric guitar boasts a sapele body, a maple top, and a black-stained a gloss finish. Custom features include red purfling that outlines the body, fretboard, and headstock; unbound f-holes; and a red energy wheel inlay for the fretboard and headstock based on a design provided by Serj. Taylor equips the Serj Tankian guitar with standard T5 electronics. Each signature Taylor Tankian guitar includes a certificate of authenticity signed by the System Of A Down frontman himself. The Hybrid Body Three-plus decades of acoustic guitar expertise informs the way Taylor shapes the hollow body hybrid T5. You can hear the tonal character before you even plug it in. Taylor T5 guitars boast a fully hollow body and an active soundboard with a compound radius. The top is a flat piece of wood braced into an arch to capture acoustic resonance. The f-holes in the top are specially designed and voiced to further enhance the resonance of the body chamber, and to allow the top to breathe in relation to a guitar player's dynamic attack. But despite the f-holes and the slight arch in the top, the Serj Tankian T5 is not an archtop guitar. Its acoustic tone is more akin to a flattop sound, as opposed to a carved top instrument like a violin, viola, archtop guitar, or mandolin.Neck Taylor wrote the book on straight, easy-playing guitar necks. The innovative T-Lock neck joint brings Taylor's trademark consistency and comfort into electric guitar players' hands. The T-Lock employs a neck joint and a precisely milled pocket spacer to dial-in the perfect neck angle. As the neck bolt is tightened into place, it pulls the neck both down and back toward the bridge for perfect alignment and stability. It's simple to put on or take off to switch out spacers for angle adjustment. And once in place, the fit is perfect, with no side movement.Pickups Inspired by Taylor's Expression System pickup for acoustic guitars, the STSM-T5 guitar's pickup is yet another Taylor breakthrough. Thanks to its humbucking pickups and proprietary body sensor, the STSM-T5 acoustic-electric guitar produces a versatile range of pure analog tones from strumming acoustic to crunchy electric and everything in between. A hidden neck humbucker, a visible bridge humbucker, and a body sensor mounted to the inside surface of the top take advantage of the latest technology, utilizing samarium cobalt magnets and humbucking coils. The body sensor reads the movement of the top, adding even more warmth to your acoustic tone.Controls The T5 electronics were inspired by the revolutionary Taylor Expression System®, and then were custom designed to bring out the best electric and acoustic tones from the guitar. In addition to the 5-way switch, two active preamp/EQ tone controls and a volume control — incorporating the same soft-touch rollers as those used on the ES — allow for a wide range of additional tone-shaping within each swit

Taylor SV-XSC2-T Classic Electric Guitar with Tremolo Red

$1499

The Taylor SB-XSC2-T Classic electric guitar has a sharp, modern-retro look and features a solid ash body with a vintage crushed pearl pickguard, maple neck and chrome hardware. The full-output Style 1 mini humbuckers are clear, spanky, tone-rich and ready to relay your attitude. Tone Chambers Chambering on electric guitar bodies has been used primarily to lighten the body weight. Taylor has applied their acoustic expertise to chambering the SB-XSC2-T in order to create the optimal acoustic "bloom." This enhances sustain, which is otherwise hard to create on an electric guitar when everything is locked down.Contours with Binding Most electric guitars either have a hard edge with binding or sleek contouring. Taylor is able to integrate the two in a unique way, because of the way they inset the guitar top into the body. This enables them to define an edge with binding and then contour up to that edge. The Taylor SB-XSC2-T guitar has no heel, and the asymmetrical curve where it meets the body creates a smooth aesthetic line that flows into the cutaway.Pickups The Taylor SB-XSC2-T Classic guitar features a plug and play pickguard loaded with Style 3 noiseless single-coil pickups that respond with all the breathiness, sparkle and other distinctive character of the single coil sound, but without any of the traditional buzz, hum or other sonic artifacts. Vintage sweetness together with the power to drive an amp gives you the best of both worlds, plus some fresh sounds that'll lead you to a world of your own.Fused String Ground Taylor has also added a fused string ground (wired to the switch plate inside the guitar), so that in the event of faulty ground or funky wiring, the 5-milliamp fuse will fry instead of you. If the fuse blows, your Taylor guitar will still play, but it may be susceptible to more noise until you can replace it, which is easy to do, especially since you won't be in the hospital.Tone Control Tone controls on electric guitars are often along for the ride. This is not the case with the Taylor SB-XSC2-T electric guitar. The first two-thirds of the knob rotation acts like a traditional tone control. The last third, especially when all the way at the end, starts peaking the mids, yielding a killer nasal tone that resembles playing through a semi-cocked Wah-wah pedal. It's ideal for slide playing, or as a different tonal color for solos or throaty rhythm parts. The tone control together with the different pickup settings give you a whole new set of flavors to play with.Knobs Designed in-house, the knobs on the Taylor SB-XSC2-T guitar had to look uniquely cool, yet more importantly, feel good to the touc

Taylor T3 Electric Guitar with Stoptail Tobacco Sunburst

Taylor T3 Electric Guitar with Stoptail Tobacco Sunburst

$2399

The T3 continues Taylor's quest to expand the range of tones available to the electric player. Inspired by both the Taylor T5 and the SolidBody, they've taken the classic semi-hollowbody sound and applied signature Taylor design and tonal touches, blending high-definition Style 2 pickups with coil-splitting capability to give players killer humbucker and single-coil sounds in one electric guitar. A push-pull tone knob brings two sweeping modes of tone control. What's great about the Taylor T3 is the way it enhances a semi-hollowbody's essential sound, transforming it into a hotrod guitar capable of a wider range of tones as a result of Taylor pickups, coil-splitting, and unique tone control. All on top of signature Taylor traits you can always count on, like superb intonation and easy playability.Pickups The T3 features a pair of full-size, Style 2 HD (high definition) humbuckers. A three-way switch covers three standard configurations: neck pickup, neck/bridge and bridge pickup. A twist was added using old-school coil-splitting. Pulling up on the volume knob splits the humbucker coils into single coils for brighter, punchier tones.Push/Pull Control Knobs The T3's volume and tone knobs both utilize push/pull pots, which give players two tiers of unique tone control. Pulling up on the volume knob activates a coil splitter, which in effect turns the humbuckers into single coils. The guitar's three-way switch functions the same way, allowing you to choose between full neck, neck/bridge and full bridge single coil tones. In its down position, the tone knob boosts the midrange. Pulling up the knob engages a second capacitor, which mellows the tone without squashing it into a muddy sound. Within that tonal range is a fresh Taylor electric voice: a mellow, old-school jazz tone that's loaded with warmth and fatness. And there's a lot of cool rock tones inbetween.Body/Neck Design The sapele T3 body is designed as a semi-hollowbody electric. The body is hollowed out except for a solid block of wood that runs down the length of the center. The T3 has no acoustic bracing inside it. The quilted maple top is laid directly on top of the internal block like the Taylor Solid Body. The sapele neck incorporates Taylor's rock-solid single-bolt T-Lock and a precisely milled pocket spacer is used to secure the perfect neck angle. The Taylor T3 has beefier electric-style frets, giving electric players a familiar feel.

Taylor T3 Electric Guitar with Bigsby Tobacco Sunburst

Taylor T3 Electric Guitar with Bigsby Tobacco Sunburst

$2499

The T3/B continues Taylor's quest to expand the range of tones available to the electric player. Inspired by both the T5 and the SolidBody, they've taken the classic semi-hollowbody sound and applied their signature Taylor design and tonal touches, blending high-definition Style 2 pickups with coil-splitting capability to give players killer humbucker and single-coil sounds in one guitar. A push-pull tone knob brings 2 sweeping modes of tone control. Taylor has also paired a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece with a roller bridge on the Taylor T3/B Guitar, giving players a high-performance vibrato bar without pitch issues. What's great about the T3/B electric guitar is the way it soups-up a semi-hollowbody's essential sound, transforming it into a hotrod guitar capable of a wider range of tones as a result of the pickups, coil-splitting, and unique tone control. All on top of signature Taylor traits you can always count on, like superb intonation and easy playability.Pickups Taylor's unique humbuckers balance the sweetness of a vintage pickup sound—where you hear the woods and the ways the guitar is responding to the player—with the power to fully drive an amp without being super hot and overpounding it. The T3 pickups features a pair of full-size Style 2 HD (high definition) humbuckers. Style 2 pickups unleash raw rock power and great sustain without sacrificing balance or great tone. A 3-way switch covers 3 standard configurations: full neck, neck/bridge and full bridge. The T3 pickups also have old-school coil-splitting. Push/Pull Control Knobs The Taylor T3/B volume and tone knobs both utilize push/pull pots, which give players 2 tiers of unique tone control. Pulling up on the volume knob activates a coil splitter, that in effect turns the humbuckers into single coils. The guitar's 3-way switch functions the same way, allowing you to choose between full neck, neck/bridge and full bridge single coil tones. And there's a lot of cool rock tones in-between.Body/Neck Design The sapele T3 body is designed as a semi-hollowbody electric. The body is hollowed out except for a solid block of wood that runs down the length of the center. The T3 guitar has no acoustic bracing inside it. The quilted maple top is laid directly on top of the internal block like the Taylor Solid Body. The sapele neck incorporates Taylor's rock-solid single-bolt T-Lock, and a precisely milled pocket spacer is used to secure the perfect neck angle.
