Gibson Tuning Machines on an epiphone?

Hey i just recently bought a Epiphone les paul standard for 600 and im looking to buy some new tuning machines. I want to buy some gibson ones. Im wondering if they will fit on my epiphone? and another thing, what strings do you prefer to play? i play all classic rock, to led to kansas. what do you reccomend?

Jordan, if there's nothing wrong with the tuners you have then there's really not much to be gained by changing them. The Gibson tuners should be a retro fit but aren't much better than the ones you already have so save your money. Believe me, I work on guitars everyday. As for strings most of the popular brands are okay. Personally I use D'Addario 10 - 46 on all of my electrics and never have any problems with them. And I too play a lot of classic rock along with some blues and blues rock.
