Ibanez Analog Delay
Another Pedal To Go With My Tube Screamer?

I have the eric clapton signature strat with maple neck through a fender twin reverb and my pedal board is as follows. Boss TU-2 Tuner -> Dunlop Crybaby Wah Pedal -> Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer -> Boss CH-1 Super Chorus -> Ibanez Analog Delay. I am looking for another pedal to either use with my tube screamer or on it's own to get more distortion for stuff like badfinger, boston etc... not a heavy metal sound. My twin rever DOES NOT have distortion on the amp.

Hi Louie

One good pedal to add is the Flanger which will give your guitar a 12-string effect. I am surprise you never bought one yet LOL..

Boss flanger is the best and cleanest.

Maxon AD-999 Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Maxon AD-999 Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$337.5

The Maxon AD-999 Guitar Effects Pedals is the most ambitious and practical analog delay pedal to come along in a very long time. A few years back the hopes of analog lovers the world over were dashed when Panasonic closed their BBD production line for good. Rather than giving in to the digital wave, Maxon took the opposite approach and had BBDs manufactured exclusively for them! Each AD999 comes loaded with eight Maxon MN3107D BBDs for a total of 900ms of pure, rich, organic analog delay. Standard Delay Time, Delay Level, and Feedback controls combine with wet/dry outputs for a variety of sounds and signal routing options. Switching is handled by a 4PDT mechanical switch for transparent, noise-free operation in bypass and the unit runs off 9V DC for easier integration into players' pedalboards. When you're ready for the ultimate analog experience, the Maxon AD999 is the only serious choice in an otherwise digital world!

Maxon 9-Series AD-9 Pro Analog Delay Pedal

Maxon 9-Series AD-9 Pro Analog Delay Pedal

$337.5

Maxon designed the 9-Series AD-9 Pro Analog Delay Pedal to be the best sounding, most reliable analog delay ever. Improved construction including through-hole, glass reinforced epoxy PCB's, snap-in PCB connectors, and true bypass switching guarantee trouble free performance. The combination of one Panasonic MN3205 BBD IC and one Signetics NE570 compander provides warm yet crystal-clear delay time with adjustable repeats and zero clock noise. The AD-9 Delay Pedal captures all the classic sounds of the most sought-after vintage analog delay units. With 10-300 milliseconds of variable delay time provided by a Panasonic MN3205 (low voltage BBD IC, now out of production), the AD-9 Analog Delay can produce a wide variety of time-delay effects, from Rock-A-Billy slapback echo to erratic, runaway delays. The Maxon AD-9's Repeat control provides additional spatial effects by adjusting the repeats from one to infinity to emulate various room sizes. Calibrated for self-oscillation, the AD-9 is an analog delay pedal capable of "UFO landing" effects as well as many other bizarre sounds limited only by your imagination. The AD-9 stompbox's Delay Level control adjusts the mix between dry and effected signals, allowing the delayed signal to sit back behind the input signal to add subtle ambience or right up in front for greater impact. Stereo outputs provide a variety of signal routing options for use with multiple amplifier setups or mixer channels. All sounds are provided with zero clock noise thanks to one Signetics NE570 compander and true bypass switching using a 4PDT mechanical switch.Since their introduction in the early 1980's, Maxon 9-Series designs have achieved a legendary, almost mythical status with pedal connoisseurs around the globe. The reasons for this are simple — superior sound quality and innovative features that offer a seamless interface between performer and performance — nothing more, nothing less. 20 years later this rule still holds true. Now available with improved circuitry including true bypass switching, Maxon 9-Series effects remain the standard by which all others are judged.

Maxon AD999 Pro Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Maxon AD999 Pro Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$399.99

The AD999 Pro Analog Delay Pedal takes the features of 2 of Maxon's most advanced delay units and combines them into a single, powerful guitar effects pedal. Based on Maxon's popular AD999 circuit and featuring the same four custom-made Maxon MC4107D bucket brigade ICs, the Pro pedal offers the same 900 milliseconds of fat, warm analog delay tone.Borrowing from the AD-9 Pro circuit, the delay repeats of the AD999 Pro are then filtered using Maxon's proprietary RMS level sensor and companding noise reduction circuitry to provide the most pristine, low-noise analog delay tone available. With this noise reduction circuit, aliasing and clock noises that were considered typical in analog delay units have been minimized to the point that they are virtually nonexistent. With a dynamic range that is 18 dB wider than most other delays and a maximum input level of +12 dB, the AD999 Pro can be used with any input signal. This improved low-range response yields a bold sound not normally associated with analog delay, and the superior balance between low and high range that the AD999 Pro offers creates a delay tone that is simultaneously clear and firm yet retains the characteristic warmth of analog. Furthermore, the wider dynamic range allows the AD999 Pro to be used in the effects loop of any amplifier without creating signal distortion or level disparities. The Maxon AD999 Pro features a "Multi-Head" mode operated via 3 top-mounted mini switches. In Multi-Head Mode, midstream delay signals (taken from the middle of the BBD delay circuit) are added to the normal delay signal to emulate the sound of Tape Echo multi-head operation. These feedback loops can then be selected by the user in a variety of combinations to create complex multi-tap delay repeats and rhythmic delay effects such as triplet- and sixteenth-note rhythms against the main delay repeat. The Multi-Head mode can also create a striking Tape Echo simulation, or it can be used to create ambient effects such as large room and concert hall reverberation. The AD999 Pro delay pedal features Maxon's now-standard DC-to-DC voltage converter and regulator circuit, assuring consistent performance of the effect regardless of AC power fluctuation. The AD999 Pro also ships with the new Maxon AC2009 power supply. The AC2009 provides very consistent high current that is regulated and filtered to provide stable, noise-free power. The AC2009 is auto-sensing, so it can be used anywhere in the world by simply changing out the detachable plug cord on the output side of the PSU.Topping off this amazing delay unit are stereo (wet/dry) outputs that allow panning of the delay signal to 2 amps or mixer channels. Like all of today's Maxon models, the Maxon AD999 Pro features mechanical true bypass switching on both outputs via a custom 4PDT low-noise switch.

Softube Tube Delay NATIVE

Softube Tube Delay NATIVE

$89.99

The Tube Delay plug-in from Softube is a marriage between analog and digital, combining the warmth and natural compression from tubes with the features and versatility of a digital delay. The effect is perfect for fattening vocal tracks, adding slapback echo to drums, or getting a gritty delay for guitars. The Tube Delay software gives you authentic tube simulation using the same technology as Softube's Amp Room products on both the dry and wet signal. In total, you get three different tube stages—in the direct, delayed, and feedbacked signal. It also provides vintage-style passive EQ with Bass and Treble that affects both the dry and the wet signal and also boosts the distortion popular in classic American guitar amps. Get delay time from 1 ms to 1 second with a host tempo sync option that sets the delay time from 16th notes to half notes with the triplets in between.

Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man XO Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man XO Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$313.5

Musicians love it and collectors cherish it. Nothing can compare to the organic sound of analog delay, especially when it's from the Deluxe Memory Man. Up to 550ms of vibrant echo that rivals tape delay. Lush, spatial chorus and haunting vibrato are just a few of the treats in the Memory Man's sonic smorgasbord. The pedal features the exact same warm analog circuit, with premium, vintage, integrated circuits, all housed in a more pedalboard-friendly enclosure. The Blend control allows you to vary the mix of direct and delayed signals, and the center-position setting equals out both levels. Feedback provides delay repeats, or multiple echoes. Fairly high feedback with short delay settings produces a reverb effect. The Delay control determines the time between direct and delayed signals, and between the repeats when feedback is used. Strange, eerie, and unusual pitch-shift effects can be produced by changing the delay, while playing—especially while using feedback. The Chorus/Vibrato control introduces a modulation in the delay time: slow for chorus, faster for vibrato. This produces a "Doppler" pitch shifting in the delayed signal. A rich, vibrant chorus effect is produced with the switch set to chorus, delay fairly short, blend at the center, chorus set high, and feedback fairly high.

Moog Moogerfooger MF-104Z Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Moog Moogerfooger MF-104Z Analog Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$699

For sheer luxury and inimitable sound quality, the MF-104Z may be the world's finest floor instrument delay. The MF-104Z features controls that allow you to vary the sound in a variety of ways possible only with a Moogerfooger. Drive and output levels let you adjust for signal strength. The delay time is variable from slightly less than 50 msec to slightly more than 1000 msec. Mix pot controls from completely dry to completely wet or anything in between. Feedback control mixes a portion of the delayed signal with the signal from your instrument. Feedback control can generate a single echo, sustaining echoes, or echoes that build up in chaotic ways. Switchable Internal Loop/External Loop selects the feedback path. In the Internal Loop position the feedback path goes directly from the output of the delay back to the input. In the External Loop position the feedback path goes through the Loop Out Jack and the Loop In Jack. This gives you an opportunity to insert signal processing in the feedback path, thereby enabling processing of the echoes as they are generated. Very cool with another Moogerfooger (unbelievable with the MuRF). Loop Gain controls the signal level which is applied to the Loop In jack when the "External Loop" is on. Inputs include: Audio In, Feedback Amount, Delay Time, and Wet/Dry Mix. Outputs include Mix Out and Delay Out. The Output Level on the front panel adjusts the levels of the direct and delayed signals that appear at the Mix Out and Delay Out.

Rocktron Celestial Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Rocktron Celestial Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$119

The Celestial Delay provides over one second of delay time in a classic analog design that mimics the retro analog tape delays of yesteryear without the hiss and noise. You get smooth and seamless time shifting and regeneration. No stuttering here with smooth delay time control shifting. You can even create the classic "flying saucer" effect with ease, free of glitches found with most other delays.Rocktron has provided a short/fast delay selector switch and a multiplier selector switch that allows you to choose whether or not to double the delay length previously chosen.Controls include volume that selects the amount of delay mixed with the original signal source. Regeneration controls how many echo repeats are created. Time controls the Delay Time dependent on the Delay Length and Multiplier settings. The Delay Length setting selects either short delay range (fast), or long delay range (SLOW). The Multiplier setting, when out, doubles the Delay Length chosen previously.Delay pedals usually sound better when placed after distortion, so if you are using a distortion pedal, place the Celestial Delay after the distortion pedal in the signal chain. If you are using your amplifier's distortion, try putting the Celestial Delay in the effects loop section of the amplifier. For distorted rhythm playing, set the Celestial Delay to a short delay length, the delay volume low and the regeneration level low. For distorted lead playing, set the Celestial Delay for a longer delay length and bump up the delay volume and the regeneration level to your taste. For country picking type delay, set the delay length to short, and bump up the delay volume and regeneration levels slightly to create a perfect country slapback effect. The footswitch on the Celestial Delay controls On/Off status (indicated by the LED). This stomp box runs on a 9V Alkaline battery. You may also use the Rocktron DC OnTap Universal Power Adaptor (not included).

Red Witch Titan Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Red Witch Titan Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$399.99

The Red Witch Titan delay pedal offer a triumvirate of time tantalizers for you to create an array of truly unique and original delay sounds. Voiced for the ultimate analog-styled sound, the Red Witch Titan provides 3 800m/sec delays.Red Witch Titan uses a classic analog delay compander to ensure the ultimate recreation of analog-flavored delay, which works hand-in-hand with their more contemporary delay engines.Add to this a modulation loop on the first delay plus all the other goodies you normally expect from a Red Witch delay, and you'll be delaying to your heart's content in no time flat.D stands for Delay time. Oddly enough this is the control that sets the delay time anywhere up to 800 milliseconds. Set it real short for almost reverby sounds, or real long for psychedelic meanderings. F stands for Feedback, or regeneration. It basically determines how many repeats the Titan delay gives you get each time you play a note. Set it fully counter-clockwise for only one repeat or set fully clockwise to tip it into out-of-control self oscillation.M stands for Mix, meaning the blend of wet and dry. Set fully counter clockwise you get the dry (clean, unaffected) signal. Set it fully clockwise and you get a louder delay repeat than the original signal. This control is really important—setting all 3 M controls set the Red Witch Titan to just produce a totally unaffected, clean signal. Turn up the M control on delay one and you'll get just delay one. Want to add some of delay 2 to the festivities? Just bring up the M control on Delay 2. Not enough goodness for you? Turn up the M control on delay 3 to bring in the sound of the third delay. Let the good times roll.A toggle switch sets the Titan delay into parallel mode. In parallel the signal is fed to the front of all 3 delays, then simultaneously processed and the output of all 3 delays is blended together. In series mode the signal is fed to the first delay on the right-hand side then fed into the input of delay 2 then fed to the input of delay 3 and sent to the pedal output. Set the switch to the left for Parallel Mode or to the right for Series Mode. Series Mode has a slightly louder wet signal due to the stacked gain stages. The bottom sockets on the sides of the Titan delay are for the effects loop. You simply attach the effect of your choice as follows: the Titan right effects loop socket connects to the other pedal's input socket and the Titan's left effects loop socket attaches to the other pedal's output socket. The shiny chrome footswitch brings the effect into the signal path by clicking this one. Truebypass switching.

Pigtronix Phi Echolution Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Pigtronix Phi Echolution Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$479

The Pigtronix Echolution achieves the warmth and ambient saturation of the finest analog echo devices while offering the versatility and features found in high-end digital delays. The Echolution's independent tap tempo and modulation delay modes allow the musician to switch between different delay sounds on the fly. The Echolution has a maximum delay time of 20 seconds and a minimum delay time of 10ms. Designed in conjunction with effects guru Howard "Mick" Davis, the Echolution is a fusion of cutting edge analog and digital circuit design. Made in New York, USA!The Modulation delay operates over 3 distinct time ranges, providing easy access to a huge array of delay-based effects. The short setting (10ms-120ms) provides stereo chorus and rockabilly slapback sounds. The medium setting (100ms-1.2 sec) covers classic echo territory with incredibly lush modulation and rich analog sound. The long setting (1 sec-12 sec) allows for sound on sound, looping, and reverse playback as well as rhythmic multi-tap patterns and pitch bending madness. Multi-tap toggle switches introduce any combination of 5 additional echoes at musical fractions of the master delay time. The values of these fractions are based on quarter notes and triplets. Engaging the (PHI) switch realigns all of these fractions to values based on the Golden Ratio. The Golden Ratio creates a spiral rhythm that is found throughout the universe. It is observed in the shapes of galaxies, sea shells, DNA, the Egyptian Pyramids as well as in the work of many great visual artists and musicians.Chorus (pitch) and tremolo (amplitude) modulation of the delay signal are controlled by a single analog LFO. Independent depth controls allow both types of modulation to be blended for rotary speaker sounds and other space age effects. An Expression pedal input for changing the delay time gives the musician even further control of the Echolution's time and pitch bending capabilities. Thoughtful features include a stereo blend control that mixes the pure analog input signal with the echo signal, a Trails switch that allows echoes to fade gradually after the effect is bypassed and an input Drive control, which can push the echoes into massive saturation. True stereo outputs provide breathtaking 3D sound when used with two amps or direct into a mixer. The Echolution contains a Loop feature that freezes the content of the delay line and repeats the captured audio. When the loop function is engaged, all of the modulation and multi-tap functions remain active, allowing you to warp and manipulate the sample beyond all recognition and then back again to its original sonic form. The Echolution can also operate its delay line in Reverse for backward sounds that are truly psychedelic. This is old school delay style "hold" looping. Reverse and Loop Functions are both switchable via a 2-button TRS remote switch. The key to the remarkably F.A.T. sound of the Echolution is a pair of Howard Davis'

This makes it possible to have one delay setup for a short slapback rhythm sound while another is set to a longer delay for solos. The Two Timer is essentially two great analog delays in one compact delay pedal. The circuit features a BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) for the warmth and character only analog can deliver, 1% Metal Film resistors for pristine audio quality plus true hard-wired bypass for a clean signal path when the effect is bypassed.Other features on the BBE Two Timer include hard-wired bypass, LED operation indicator, non-slip rubber bottom, easy-access 9v battery compartment, and included external power supply

Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

Vox Joe Satriani Time Machine Delay Guitar Effects Pedal

$199.99

The Vox Time Machine dual-mode delay pedal was created in a collaboration between world-renowned guitarist Joe Satriani and VOX. With two delay modes and a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch, it delivers a wide range of delay sounds and yet remains remarkably easy to use.Two delay modes to handle any situation The Time Machine has both Modern and Vintage delay modes. The Modern mode mirrors your original sound with full clarity and fidelity, and will fit any style of music. As its name suggests, the Vintage mode delivers the sound of a classic tape delay pedal. A proprietary saturation circuit creates a warm, analog sound with a nice sense of distortion. Gentle modulation is also applied in the vintage mode, reproducing the slight warbling produced by a tape-based delay. The amazing effectiveness is the result of an uncompromising process of testing and refining carried out by Joe and VOX.Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch summons up Joe Satriani's custom tone Joe wanted to get a sound that blends nicely with the other performers—whether you're on stage or in the studio—and yet also has some thickness to the tone. The solution was to add a Hi-Fi/Lo-Fi switch to the Time Machine. The Hi-Fi mode delivers a transparent, uncolored sound. The Lo-Fi mode, on the other hand, provides a distinctive EQ, combining both high-pass and low-pass filters. This EQ uses filters that have been precisely adjusted to Joe's taste, so that your guitar sound will blend naturally in the mix—without obscuring or interfering with the other players.Versatile functions equal a diverse range of sound The Vox Time Machine is an effect pedal like no other, one that expands your sound-creating potential through a variety of practical functions. The delay time is adjustable over a broad range—from 30ms slapback to nearly 6 full seconds of delay*. You can also use the tap tempo switch to set the delay as triplets, eighth notes, dotted 8th notes, or quarter notes depending on the delay range position setting. The chicken-head knobs that are a VOX tradition (and also favored by Joe) allow you to make fine adjustments—even while holding a pick—so it's easy to make quick yet precise changes. There are also two output jacks, so the unprocessed "dry" sound and the processed "wet" sound can be output separately. By connecting these two jacks to different amps, you can obtain spacious delay sounds that are highly effective in any playing environment.* Maximum delay is 5800 milliseconds when using the tap temp switch and 1000 milliseconds when using the delay control.

Guyatone MD-3 Micro Digital Delay Guitar Effects Pedal ¹

Guyatone MD-3 Micro Digital Delay Guitar Effects Pedal ¹

$116.25

Just what is so great about the Guyatone MD-3? Quite simply, the Micro Digital Delay Pedal offers the most authentic note reproduction of any delay device available, period. Notes come back exactly as you played them: Not rounder, harsher, warmer, colder, or altered in any manner whatsoever. If you've ever played a tape echo, you know that their tone is not dark sounding like some people claim, but actually quite bright and clear. The MD-3 gives the user the crispness and clarity of a tape echo combined with the longer delay time of a digital device, while its controls react like an analog unit. 30-2600 milliseconds of delay time are available; more than enough to create an entire range of classic delay effects from rockabilly slapback to arena-rock washes of excess and everything in between. At higher feedback setting (above 3 o'clock) the MD-3 will self-oscillate like an analog delay, creating cacophonous cascades of repeats, UFO-landings, ray guns, and other bizarre sound effects. At lower feedback settings (around 2 o'clock) the MD-3 digital effects pedal can be used for multi-layering of short parts, creating beautiful, ethereal soundscapes that slowly fade into infinity. In addition, the MD-3 Delay has a lower current draw than other digital units, which means you'll spend less time changing batteries and more time playing!
