Yah hi who can tell me a bit about Guitar String Gauges?

I have owned a steel string acoustic for about 3 months now and I think it's time to change the strings, but I don't know about all these different kinds of guages...

Since it is an acoustic, I would suggest using Martin strings. Martin string are quite hard in general, but you can get lower gauge strings, which will sound just the same! I buy medium gauge, but since you want softer strings, I would suggest buying a 010 gauge set. 010 is the gauge of the high E string, which is the thinner of them all. With these strings you will experience a fuller and bluesy sound, which is what most guitarists aim to achieve! Good luck!
