how much would you pay for this fender strat?
ii recently got a custom mexican fender strat. it has a black body inclduing the scratch plate, rosewood neck, 3 seymore duncan lipsticks pickups, top range fender black machine heads and a tuner on the volume nob like one on a gibson robot but u tune it manually.

Hello! If you purchased a stock pre-owned MIM Stratocaster, you could expect to pay $275 to $375 for one in decent condition off Craig's List. To buy the extras you mentioned which included the chromatic tuner ($70), lipstick pickups ($210), machine tuners ($60, if locking style), and black pickguard ($20), you could spend up to $360 for the parts alone. For me, the only true value-add upgrades would be the pickups and the machine tuners. Yes, the chromatic tuner is nice, but is too gimmicky for my tastes. I would also have to say that the lipstick pickups are really very tone-limiting; not that they do not sound good, just somewhat one-dimensional. When sold by an individual (as opposed to a retailer), most upgrades only contribute 50% to 70% of their cost to the base price of the instrument. I am sure this is a very nice playing and appearing guitar, but I would not pay more than $500 for it, and I hope you did not either! Best regards, Dana
