Gibson Les Paul Custom
Gibson Les Paul Studio or Epiphone Les Paul custom?

Can someone tell me which one is better for their prices and is the gibson les paul studio a good guitar because it is the cheapest gibson les paul out there (i think.)
THANKS!

get a standard for either brands u like. For gibson, you get burstbuckers and it is a signature gibson sound. studio, you get 490 498. Those are not bad, but they are just not good and without those bindings, it looks like it is going to break anytime. For epiphone, the custom is just a gimmick. get the standard plus. it got the flame thing as those gibsons.

Taking the 490 one step further, the 498 swaps the Alnico II magnet to an Alnico V, thus making it slightly hotter with emphasis on mid-ranges and highs. All hardware on this beauty is gold including an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Grover tuners. Includes Gibson hardshell guitar case.

Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar Ebony

Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar Ebony

$4799

The Alnico V pickup found in the neck position on the Gibson Custom 1955 Les Paul Custom electric guitar was designed in 1952 by Seth Lover and Walt Fuller for Gibson to succeed the P-90 single-coil pickup on several of Gibson's distinguished archtop jazz hollowbodies, most famously the L5 CES, ES-5, and Byrdland guitars. Similar to the P-90 in appearance, the Alnico V is easily recognized by its distinctive rectangular pole pieces. The guitar pickup gets its name from the stronger Alnico V magnets, while each coil has 10,000 turns of 42-gauge wire to achieve its clear, round, ringing sound. It made its debut on a solidbody Gibson in the Fretless Wonder of 1954, the Les Paul Custom, or Black Beauty. P-90 single-coil pickup The bridge position is equipped with a screaming single-coil P-90 pickup. The P-90 was the standard pickup on all Gibson models in the late 1940s and into the 1950s and because of its crisp, bright tone it has experienced resurgence in popularity with many of today's modern rockers. This classic Gibson pickup delivers sizzling, slightly gritty midrange roar. You'll find that the P-90's high output and biting treble has more nuanced harmonic coloring than the typical Fender single-coil pickup.ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic Bridge and Stopbar Tailpiece The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge was the brainchild of famed Gibson president Ted McCarty in 1954, setting a standard for simplicity and functionality that has never been bettered. The ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic is slotted directly into the body of the Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar using a separate stud and thumbwheel, providing a firm seating for the strings and allowing players the ability to adjust and fine tune intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. And held in place with TonePros long steel anchors and long locking studs, the stopbar tailpiece yields a great union between the strings and body, which results in excellent vintage tone and sustain. Soft Shoulder '55 Neck Profile The Soft Shoulder '55 neck profile makes the Gibson Custom Les Paul Custom sit in your hand like no other guitar neck. Gibson's guitar team chose a '55 Les Paul that had a neck with a "magical feel" to serve as a model for the Soft Shoulder '55 neck. The depth is the same from the top of the fretboard to the back of the neck as the rounded '50s neck, yet has gently sloping sides that sit comfortably in your hand. Year of 1955 Innovation 1955 was a year of great innovation in all areas of American life. 1955 saw the dawn of the United States space program. The first of the classic V8 Chevrolets hit dealerships all over the country, reflecting the spirit of change that was in the air. And don't forget the birth of Rock and Roll! Jukeboxes were blasting music by Bill Haley, Chuck Berry, a kid named Elvis, and his guitar player Scotty Moore. Something was afoot. The archetypical tones of this music had already been forged in the Legendary Gibson Guitar Factory. The

Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Reissue Electric Guitar COGNAC BURST

$5999

All of the '59 specs are faithfully reproduced in this 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Sunburst Reissue with the distinctive Cognac Burst nitrocellulose finish including wireless ABR-1 bridge, bumblebee capacitors, CTS pots, and the correct materials and shape of the bridge posts and thumbwheels, truss rod cover, strap button, and pickguard. The only major change to the Gibson Les Paul "Sunburst" in 1959 was the addition of wider, fatter jumbo frets which facilitated more dramatic bends. The real force of this change was not felt until the late 1960s when rock and blues players like Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield, and Peter Green began to discover the fat, warm voice of the '59 Les Paul, dubbed the "Sunburst' by players. This moment in history marked the beginning of the idealization of the 1959 Les Paul Sunburst as the quintessential electric guitar in the minds of guitarists and collectors everywhere.Using a combination of traditional hand craftsmanship and modern technology, the luthiers of the Gibson Custom Shop painstakingly reproduce the key elements that define stunning, vintage looks, flawless playability, and incredible tone. Solid mahogany back, historically accurate long neck tenon for superior strength and sustain, period correct neck profiles, hardware and electronics, and 100% nitrocellulose lacquer are all part of this special Gibson Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul guitar.

Gibson Custom 1954 Les Paul Custom VOS Electric Guitar Ebony

Gibson Custom 1954 Les Paul Custom VOS Electric Guitar Ebony

$4499

Les Paul wanted two colors used on the Gibson guitar that would forever bear his name: gold (for its connection to all things fine) and black (because a player's hands would be easily visible against a dark background). Les got the gold in 1952, but had to wait for the black. The Les Paul Custom was introduced in 1954 and featured elegant appointments like gold hardware, multiple binding, and an ebony fretboard. The '54 Custom was also the first solidbody Gibson guitar to use the ABR-1 bridge, the familiar piece of hardware we've all come to know as the Tune-O-Matic.Underneath it's luxurious inky finish, this historic re-creation of the original 1954 Custom features a carved mahogany top, a solid mahogany back, one-piece mahogany neck with long neck tenon, an early '50s rounded neck profile, 24-3/4" scale length, and a 1-11/16" nut width. It also has multi-ply white/black binding on the body and headstock, with white single-ply binding on the fingerboard. Its finer appointments include gold hardware, an ebony fingerboard, large pearl block inlays, pearl headstock inlay, and kidney bean tuners. The original circuitry is preserved with the use of CTS pots and bumble bee capacitors in the signal path and the unique pickup array of a vintage P-90 pickup at the bridge and a rare Alnico V pickup at the neck. The Alnico V pickup was designed in 1952 by Seth Lover and Walt Fuller for Gibson to succeed the P-90 pickup on several of Gibson's distinguished archtop jazz hollowbodies, most famously the L5 CES, ES-5, and Byrdland guitars. Similar to the P-90 in appearance, the Alnico V is easily recognized by its distinctive rectangular pole pieces. It gets its name from the stronger Alnico V magnets, while each coil has 10,000 turns of 42-gauge wire to achieve its clear, round, ringing sound. Each VOS model has a solid mahogany back; historically accurate long-neck tenon for strength and sustain; and period-correct neck profile, hardware, and electronics.

Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Reissue Electric Guitar Faded Lemonburst

Gibson Custom 1959 Les Paul Reissue Electric Guitar Faded Lemonburst

$5999

The 50th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Sunburst Reissue Faded Lemonburst has the appearance of a 1959 Les Paul that has spent the last 50 years in a display case in a museum. While the electric guitar retains the high gloss finish of a new instrument, the color has faded to the warm glow of the Faded Lemonburst finish. There will only be 25 of these Gibson Les Paul guitars offered worldwide. All of the '59 "Sunburst" specs are faithfully reproduced including the nitrocellulose finish, wireless ABR-1 bridge, bumblebee capacitors, CTS pots, and the correct materials and shape of the bridge posts and thumbwheels, truss rod cover, strap button, and pickguard.Where did Faded Lemonburst come from? In 1959, the Gibson Les Paul was offered in two standard colors: a cherry sunburst and a darkburst. Most Les Paul guitars were finished in a cherry sunburst. Others received a darker burst to conceal mineral streaks, worm tracks, or flecks in the maple top. Over the years, the red dye in the cherryburst Les Pauls faded to different degrees due to exposure to sunlight, temperature, humidity and other factors. Each relative color difference has been affectionately named by Les Paul aficionados. One of the most desirable of these variances is "The Faded Lemonburst."

Gibson Custom Les Paul Axcess Electric Guitar Gun Metal Gray

Gibson Custom Les Paul Axcess Electric Guitar Gun Metal Gray

$3499

The Gibson Les Paul Axcess Standard is an electric guitar that carries all the elegant styling, fluid body lines, and rocking attitude of a classic Les Paul Standard from the golden era of 1958 to '60. The Les Paul Axcess reveals a handful of upgrades upon closer examination—all modifications made in the name of maximum playability and versatility. The most noticeable addition is the Floyd Rose tailpiece, a unit optimized for anything from subtle vibrato wobbles to dramatic, rumbling divebombs. Partnered with an R4 locking nut, it also guarantees outstanding tuning stability and return-to-pitch accuracy. While the Axcess guitar sports what looks from the front to be a traditional Les Paul neck joint, the neck heel and portions of the back and neck joint at the upper cutaway have been contoured to provide a "heelless" feel and an unimpeded reach right up to the 22nd fret. No more stretching against the traditional neck heel to achieve the upper-fret access that your lead style demands—the Axcess guitar gives you that sought-after Les Paul playability all the way up the neck, and welcomes you to take it right over the top.To further enhance playing comfort, this smoothly carved neck joint is joined by a "belly scarf" (a.k.a. ribcage contour) that allows the body of the guitar to hug closely to your own body in the playing position without digging in. Add to these contours the Les Paul Axcess guitar's slightly thinner body, made from weight-relieved mahogany (with carved maple top), and you've also got a Les Paul guitar that is refreshingly light, and a pure joy to play either strapped on or seated.Beyond all these significant considerations for playing feel, the Les Paul Axcess Standard is also geared toward optimum tone, as you'd expect from any Gibson Custom Shop creation. Exposed-coil BurstBucker 1 and BurstBucker 2 pickups in the neck and bridge positions—the most accurate reproduction vintage-PAF-style humbucker pickups Gibson has ever offered ‐ yield everything from warm, fluid vocal tones to fat, sweet growl. An added push/pull switch on the treble tone knob provides coil splitting for accurate single-coil tones. The combination excels at everything from singing classic rock lead tones, to contemporary crunch, to extremes of twang and jangle. Even the pure-nickel wound .010 Gibson Vintage Strings the Axcess guitar ships with contribute toward its rich, textured voice.Being a product of the Gibson Custom Shop, the Les Paul Axcess is a guitar built to the highest standards attainable, which include a final set-up and fret dressing by the computer-controlled PLEK System. All Les Paul Standard necks receive precision fret dressing and setup with the Plek system. As the guitar lies in a cradle, a computer-controlled robot arm moves along the neck measuring each fret's height, the fingerboard radius, even the bow in the neck. Using that data, the Plek machine adjusts the truss rod, cuts
