Gibson Custom ES-359 Semi Hollow Electric Guitar Ebony $3009 This semi-hollow ES-359 from Gibson adds gold hardware, Grover tuners, and an ebony fingerboard with large mother-of-pearl block inlays to one of the most exciting guitars in decades; the ES-339. The ES-359 is part of the next generation from the Custom Shop of Gibson's iconic ES electric guitars. As with the ES-339, it delivers bold, semi-hollow tone that is rich with expressive, even stinging, overtones in a smaller, solidbody-sized guitar. The ES-359 has some exciting enhancements including Memphis Tone electronics, the 30/60 slender neck profile, ebony fingerboard, as well as reduced dimensions and weight.Memphis Tone electronics Memphis Tone circuitry uses 500K audio taper pots that operate with an interactive load that preserves high end as you turn down the volume. The loading effect preserves the full-bodied tone with rich midrange and singing sustain from the '57 Classic humbuckers while adding a very sweet bite. Another difference: the volume is very smooth, rolling off in even increments along with the numbers on the knobs. Since they operate more like how we hear (logarithmically), the controls work the way the player thinks they should. So when the guitarist turns down the volume the highs are still there!30/60 Neck Developed in assistance from guitar guru Jon Schwartz, the 30/60 slender neck is a '60s style neck with an extra .030" front-to-back to preserve the semi-hollowbody tone, sustain, and feel while providing smooth playability.Reduced dimensions and weight The ES 359 builds on the success of the semi-hollowbody guitars first introduced by Gibson in 1958 with the ES-335. Lighter and more compact than a traditional semi-hollow guitar, the ES 359 retains the distinct semi-hollowbody electric tone that powered so many hit records and landmark performances.Outer rim output jack Here's one ES players have been wanting: The output jack is mounted on the outer rim. No more cable crossing the body, spoiling the guitar's clean looks and and getting in your way.Two '57 Classic Humbuckers with 3-way pickup selection plus individual volume and tone controls provide the incredibly versatile sounds that make the semi-hollow electric famous for its use in jazz, rock, blues, country, and nearly every other style you can think of. Quality Kluson tuners keep retuning time to a minimum, and nickel hardware enhances the great looks. The ES-359 is available in a choice of two finishes: Ebony, Vintage Sunburst. The lacquer finish is applied with a light, even touch, allowing the guitar's wood to resonate naturally while providing a protective, mirror-like shine. The ES-359 comes with a Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity. |

Gibson Angus Young SG Electric Guitar Ebony $2309 Classic rock doesn't get much bigger than AC/DC, and no one wails out massive, bone-crunching tone like Angus Young on his Gibson SG electric guitar. Young's incendiary tone has inspired wave after wave of rock guitar heroes, and turned on countless players to the power of his seminal guitar of choice, the Gibson SG. Now the Gibson USA Angus Young guitar, brings all the tone and playability of this classic double-cutaway made to Angus Young's own specs within reach of the hardworking rock guitarist, giving you all the punch, crunch, and sizzle that Angus achieves with his own treasured Gibson guitar. Way back in 1961 the Gibson SG electric guitar replaced the under appreciated Les Paul Standard, and while the Les Paul would surface later in the decade as a rock and blues classic, the Gibson SG (originally named Les Paul/SG) was an instant hit in its own right. Its simple yet inspired ingredients of thin, all-mahogany body and neck and two Gibson humbucking pickups gave it a snappy attack with a muscular punch, and its slim, fast neck yielded unprecedented playability. The Gibson SG Angus Young guitar not only captures the look, feel, and sound of a classic SG, the Gibson electric guitar also embodies some of the rare specs and qualities of Angus Young's own '68 guitar, known to be a standout example among a classic breed. The Angus Young guitar's light, all-mahogany body yields superb resonance, while its extra slim, narrow neck provides unparalleled playability—and, topped with an upgraded ebony fingerboard with lightning-bolt inlays, it features a look that will help any rocker stand out from the crowd. Loaded with Gibson's popular '57 Classic humbucking pickup in the neck and an Angus Young humbucker in the bridge for added punch and sizzle, it packs all the firepower a gigging guitarist needs to cut it on the big stage. Each Gibson Angus Young guitar comes with a snug-fitting Gibson USA hardshell electric guitar case. |

Gibson Songwriter Special Acoustic-Electric Guitar Ebony $1899 Based on the Gibson "Square Shoulder" Hummingbird series of guitars, you know right away that the new Gibson Songwriter Special has the right DNA. To improve the breed even further, Gibson uses the vintage-style "wide-X" top bracing on this guitar for that warm, powerful, "old Gibson" sound. To bring the guitar up to the 21st century, Gibson has refined the neck profile to make it slimmer and faster. They've also built in an L.R. Baggs pickup for those times you need to "plug in."The Songwriter Special uses all solid wood construction Solid imported Honduran mahogany for the back and sides, solid Sitka spruce for the top. The neck is one piece mahogany too for added stability. The vintage-style "wide X" top bracing allows for greater top movement, and much improved projection. The bracing is scalloped by hand to keep weight down, and adding strength at the same time. This combination of tonewoods and bracing design makes for a powerful, yet very articulate sound. The factory installed pickup is the highly respected L.R. Baggs Element with a convenient soundhole rim mounted volume control. The pickup delivers a rich, "natural" sound, much smoother than many other "acoustic-electric" pickups. The guitar/pickup combo responds well to all playing styles and needs from vigorous flatpicking to soft chordal strums. The Indian rosewood fingerboard is graced by Gibson's "floret" inlays, and design that dates back to the famed Gibson banjos of the 30s. The bridge is Indian rosewood as well. The guitar is finished in a gorgeous ebony lacquer finish, not the cheaper polyurethane finish used on most other guitars at this price. To top off the guitar's good looks are a subtle top binding, bound pickguard, and a beautiful abalone rosette around the soundhole. This guitar is shipped complete with a custom fit, hardshell case. |

Gibson Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar Ebony $2189 The Gibson Les Paul Standard Traditional Electric Guitar earns its name thanks to the traditional features you expect in a Les Paul guitar: mahogany body, set neck with rounded '50s profile, maple top, and a pair of Gibson's '57 Classic humbucker pickups. One significant, yet not-so-traditional improvement: the neck is analyzed by Gibson's Plek machine. Using computer precision Gibson Plek files the frets and cuts slots in the nut to an accuracy of a hundredth of a millimeter for optimal action and intonation without string buzzing. |

Gibson SG Special Electric Guitar Satin Ebony $799 Hands down, the Gibson SG Special Satin Ebony electric guitar is the best combination of features and value in Gibson's iconic SG line-up. You still get the dynamic, slim mahogany body and hair-trigger quick neck that have made the SG a workhorse guitar, yet without all the non-essentials. The ultra-affordable price tag on this electric guitar is owed to fewer coats of finish than can be found on the traditional SG Standard and SG Special. This stripped-down finishing process means that not only will you enjoy more resonance, but you'll be the proud owner of an SG that looks straight out of the '60s. The Gibson SG Special is uncivilized. It's fierce. And it's got to hang in your guitar rack.Solid Mahogany Body Probably the most central of all the SG Special's features is its solid mahogany body—lightweight, strong, with a thick, warm tone. The mahogany goes through the same rigorous selection process as all of Gibson's woods, and is personally inspected and qualified by Gibson's team of skilled wood experts before it enters the Gibson factories. Inside the Gibson factories, humidity is maintained at 45 percent, and the temperature at 70 degrees. This ensures all woods are dried to a level of equilibrium, where the moisture content does not change during the manufacturing process. This guarantees tight-fitting joints and no expansion, in addition to reducing the weight. It also helps with improving the woods' machinability and finishing properties. Consistent moisture content means that a Gibson guitar will respond evenly to temperature and humidity changes long after it leaves the factory.'50s Rounded Neck Profile No guitar neck profiles are more distinguishable than the neck profiles employed on the Gibson models of today. The guitar's more traditional '50s neck profile on the SG Special is the thicker, rounder profile, emulating the neck shapes found on the iconic 1958 and 1959 Les Paul Standards. The neck is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the rest—including the final sanding—is done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while the Gibson SG Special guitar still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.Dot Inlays Over the years, the classic dot inlay has been one of the more traditional features of many Gibson guitars, including the SG. A figured, swirl acrylic gives these inlays that distinguished pearl look. They are inserted into the fingerboard using a process that eliminates gaps and doesn't require the use of fillers.Gibson's 490 (R) Rhythm and (T) Treble Pickup The mid to late 1960s saw the emergence of a very different type of music coming from the clubs of England. It was an interpretation of the blues that hadn't been heard before, an |

Gibson Joan Jett Blackheart Electric Guitar Satin Ebony $920 Carefully developed in close cooperation with Jett herself, the Gibson Joan Jett Blackheart Melody Maker guitar features a lightweight, slab mahogany body with a satin ebony finish.Slim, double-cutaway mahogany body From its initial launch in 1959, the Gibson Melody Maker was known for its single-cutaway design similar in profile to Gibson's iconic Les Paul Standard. The double-cutaway design on the Joan Jett Melody Maker was first introduced in 1962, then changed again in 1966 to a style similar to the revered Gibson SG, with pointed horns and beveled edges.Custom designed slim-tapered neck profile The neck profile on the Gibson Joan Jett guitar, however, is crafted to the same specs as Jett's original electric guitar—a slim-taper profile similar to the Gibson Les Paul guitars and SGs of the mid to late 1960s. Add Gibson's Worn White finish to the back of the neck and the Melody Maker Joan Jett signature guitar neck is one of Gibson's most comfortable and playable.Grover Gibson Les Paul-style mini tuners These classic, innovative tuners offer the same design and ease of use as the original tuners on Gibson's Melody Makers from the early 1960s. The smaller buttons on the Joan Jett guitar afford more space for the fingers to tune the strings, the tuner housing is completely sealed, and a gear ratio of 14:1 delivers excellent performance and tuning accuracy to match the vintage Les Paul look.Single Gibson Burstbucker 3 Zebra humbucker Gibson USA's Melody Maker Joan Jett signature guitar features a single Gibson Burstbucker 3 humbucker that captures the raw punch and power of the rare Velvet Hammer aftermarket humbucker on Joan Jett's original guitar. The Burstbucker 3 debuted in 1990, and represents Gibson's drive to capture and recreate the characteristics of the vintage "Patent Applied For" humbuckers of the late 1950s. "Kill" toggle switch With only one pickup, the Double Cutaway Joan Jett Melody Maker electric guitar features a 'Kill' toggle switch, which effectively switches between the hot signal from the pickup and the ground signal, successfully 'killing,' or turning off the signal from the pickup when activated. Joan Jett uses this control to shut off her guitar when singing and not playing, or as an effect during a song. Satin ebony finish Applying a satin nitrocellulose finish to any Gibson guitar—including the Joan Jett Melody Maker—is one of the most labor-intensive elements of the guitar-making process, yielding some very satisfying results. This unique finish gives the Gibson Joan Jett Melody Maker the look and feel of a truly vintage electric guitar, also making it extremely playable and comfortable. |
